A man was found shot to death inside his car late Sunday night near Hobby Airport in Houston, according to local authorities.
The Houston Police Department (HPD) is actively searching for a suspect linked to the fatal shooting, which took place on Clearwood Drive, just south of the Gulf Freeway.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released, but according to KHOU, he was discovered behind the wheel of the vehicle, already deceased.
Witnesses reported seeing another man inside the car at the time of the shooting. Moments after the gunfire, the suspect fled the scene on foot, running through a nearby apartment complex.
In response, HPD officers, along with K-9 units, launched an extensive search for the suspect. He has been described only as wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
The search operation stretched late into the night along the 9400 block of Clearwood, as detailed by Click2Houston.
Investigators are still working to uncover what led to the shooting. Initial evidence indicates the shooter was inside the car when the victim was killed, but it remains unclear whether the vehicle was moving or stationary at the time.
The suspect is still at large, and police are urging the public to share any information that could help with the investigation.
