FAISALABAD: District police will not allow anyone to set foot in the district court premises without proper checking.
This decision was made in the wake of a surge in firing incidents on the Faisalabad court premises, which led to the killing of at least two people and left a woman injured in the last couple of weeks.
The police spokesperson said that SSP Operations had taken stock of the security arrangements of district courts Faisalabad.
SSP Operations emphasized that walk-through gates must be up and running, and all other security equipment should be active to ensure foolproof security within the court premises. He stressed that no one should slip through the cracks.
Meeting with Bar Association
The district police, led by SSP Operations, held a meeting with the office bearers of the Faisalabad Bar Association, led by its President Saifur Rehman Bhatti. Both sides discussed security issues in detail.
They also discussed searching vehicles entering the court premises, and frisking litigants.
Prioritizing Safety and Justice
SSP Operations said that protecting the lives and property of citizens and ensuring justice are the top priorities of Faisalabad police.
SP Lyallpur Town Rahman Qadir, DSP Circle Civil Lines Aamir Waheed, SHO Civil Lines, and DBA Faisalabad Secretary Abdul Wahab Shah were also present at the meeting.
Notice to Bar Members
Moreover, the district bar also issued a notice to its members, stating that no one except lawyers is allowed to wear a uniform within the court premises and session courts.
It warned that if any unauthorized person wears a lawyer’s uniform or pretends to be a lawyer, a case will be registered against them.
Law students have also been cautioned not to cross the line by wearing the uniform. If they fail to comply, a reference will be sent to the Punjab Bar Council to pull the plug on their license issuance.
