HOUSTON — Houston police have launched a search to look for a man who allegedly shot at his father during an argument late Wednesday night. The accused fled from the scene.

Argument Leads to Shooting in Parking Lot

Police report that the dispute occurred shortly after 11 p.m. in a parking lot near the North Loop East Service Road. A man in his 50s was sitting in his red truck, talking to his son, who was in another car with a friend. The argument started over someone owing money, investigators say.

During the fight, police say the son shot his father in the back and then drove off. The injured man tried to drive away but crashed into an embankment along the North Loop East Service Road.

They took him to the hospital, where he was treated for injuries that were not considered critical. The son is still on the run.
