FAISALABAD: The lively events of tent-pegging, display of latest agricultural technologies, live pottery, books, handicrafts and food have drawn a diverse crowd at the one-day Zarai Mela.
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) organized this event, which was inaugurated by the former Punjab governor, Khalid Maqbool. The UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Sarwar and a large number of faculty members, farmers and students were also present on the occasion.
A Melting Pot of Culture and Technology
People from different walks of life thronged the venue to celebrate the rich folk culture of the region. They passionately explored the latest advancements in agricultural technology.
Showcasing Innovation and Tradition
Shehryar Ahmed, the university PRO, talking to Grand Lines Pk said that the event was designed to showcase the latest agricultural technologies and practices to boost productivity, and promote our rich culture.
He said the Agri Tourism Club and Senior Tutor Office of the UAF have pulled out all the stops to make the event unforgettable.
More than 100 stalls have been established at the fair showcasing innovative farming techniques, traditional crafts, and culinary delights. He said the fair not only highlighted the importance of modern agricultural practices but also served as a reminder of the cultural heritage that binds communities together.
A Thrilling Display of Equestrian Skills
He said a one-day national tent pegging championship was also part of this festival in which 300 horse riders exhibited their skills.
