FAISALABAD (GL News) – In a dramatic turn of events, Faisalabad witnessed three separate police encounters within 24 hours. Two alleged criminals were killed, while another suspect sustained bullet injuries.

The recently formed Crime Control Department took part in two of the alleged encounters—one in Jaranwala Saddar and the second in Samanabad.

Police claimed all three encounters occurred in response to direct armed resistance from suspects wanted in serious criminal cases.

Jaranwala Saddar: Robbery in Progress Ends in Gunfire

According to Inspector Siddique Cheema of the Crime Control Department, Lyallpur Division, he and his team were on a raid to arrest a wanted criminal, identified as Gulfam Shah, when they came under fire near Chak No. 105 GB Bange.

Police said four armed suspects had reportedly blocked the road and were in the middle of a robbery when officers arrived. Upon seeing the police, the suspects opened fire, which was returned in self-defense.

When the gunfire ceased, police found one suspect injured at the scene. Two civilians, who had been tied up by the suspects, were safely recovered.

The injured suspect was identified as Faisal Javed, who was allegedly involved in several heinous crimes. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Jaranwala for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Stolen cash and a motorcycle (registration number 4422/ANX), reportedly snatched within the remit of Thikriwala Police Station, were recovered from the scene.

Samanabad Encounter: Accomplice’s Bullet Kills Fugitive

The second encounter took place in Samanabad, where Inspector Umar Sarfraz Warraich, in charge of the Crime Control Department, Iqbal Town, reported by phone that four unidentified suspects opened fire after being intercepted near Link Road, Muzaffar Colony.

Upon being informed, SHO Samanabad reached the scene with reinforcements.

A gunfight ensued, during which one suspect was found injured at the spot. Police said the suspect was reportedly hit by bullets fired by his own accomplices.

He was taken to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased was identified as Kamran Rafiq, allegedly involved in dozens of criminal cases. The remaining three suspects managed to flee.

Thikriwala Incident: Escaped Suspect Shot in Crossfire

The third encounter occurred in the jurisdiction of Thikriwala Police Station. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Nawaz and his team were escorting a suspect, Shaban, for recovery in a robbery-cum-murder case (FIR 841/25) when they were attacked near Chak No. 276 JB Dandewal.

Four armed men, including Allah Ditta, arrived on two motorcycles and opened fire on the police vehicle, successfully freeing the under-custody suspect.

Upon receiving the alert, SHO Thikriwala, Elite Force personnel, and other officers rushed to the scene. While searching for the escaped suspects, ASI Farhan reported that five suspects on two motorcycles opened fire on police at a checkpoint near Chak No. 66 JB.

Police returned fire, and when the gunfire subsided, Shaban—who had earlier escaped—was found injured.

Police claimed Shaban was hit by bullets fired by his own accomplices during the crossfire. He was shifted to the hospital for treatment and is reportedly involved in multiple serious crimes.

Manhunt and Police Response Continue Across Faisalabad

Search operations and citywide blockades are underway to apprehend the remaining fugitives.
