Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain and snowfall in different parts of the country today.
The weather is expected to remain dry with partly cloudy skies over most areas, however, rain and snowfall are forecast at isolated places in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast Balochistan, Northeast Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Weather in and around Islamabad will remain partly cloudy with strong winds, thundershowers and intermittent rain likely throughout the day.
The PMD also indicated that there may be more rain in the capital during the day, along with brief periods of thunderstorms and thundershowers.
Cold weather will remain partly cloudy in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, the upper regions including Dera, Chitral, Kohistan, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Bitgram, Buner, Abbottabad, Swabi, Mardan, Malakand, Bajaur, Nowshera, Peshawar and Charsadda are likely to witness intermittent rain and snow on the mountains.
The weather in Punjab will also remain cold, the forecast will remain partly cloudy in most districts. Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Gujarat, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Sheikhupura are likely to experience intermittent rain and hail. Intermittent rain and snow may occur in hilly areas of Murree, Galiat and nearby areas.
The PMD has also predicted that the minimum temperature in Lahore will be around 14 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 23 degrees Celsius. While dry weather is expected to return tomorrow, the department has predicted another spell of rain on March 2.
Weather will remain dry in most districts of Sindh. However, it is cloudy in Karachi, and there is a chance of light rain or drizzle in the suburbs.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will also experience intermittent rain and snowfall with strong winds and thundershowers.
Cold weather is expected in Balochistan with partly cloudy weather. On this day, rain, thundershower and snowfall will occur in the areas of Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pashin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Kalat, Zhob, Musa Khel, Loralai, Barkhan, Sibi and Khuzdar.
The PMD recorded the lowest temperatures in Leh (-04°C), Parachinar (-03°C), Gopas, and Bagrot (-02°C), and Malam Jabba (-01°C).
