Husband charged with wife’s murder in Houston

A man has been arrested and charged with murdering his wife at their home in northwest Houston, police reported.

Chance Chavez, 34, was charged with murder on Thursday, a day after Houston police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Emma Forest Street near Pinemont Drive at around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.



Upon arrival, officers noticed a suspicious vehicle in the driveway. They then saw Chavez standing in the doorway with his hands raised.

Police observed blood on his arms, legs, and clothing.

During their search, investigators found Chavez’s 32-year-old wife in a bedroom. She was pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered blunt force trauma to her body.

Chavez was taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail. Details regarding his bond hearing have not yet been announced.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover more about the tragic incident.
