A tragic traffic accident in Houston has claimed the life of a 25-year-old man, turning a critical injury case into a fatality.

The crash occurred on the afternoon of March 8 at the intersection of Brewster Street and Sumpter Street.

According to Officer R. Leibold from the Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division, the man was riding a Honda motorcycle southbound when he failed to stop at a stop sign. This led to a collision with a westbound gray Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Emergency responders rushed the motorcyclist to the hospital, where he remained in critical condition. Sadly, doctors pronounced him dead on Tuesday.

His identity has not yet been released, as authorities await confirmation from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The three occupants of the Ford truck escaped the crash without injuries.

The Houston Police Department confirmed the motorcyclist’s death in a statement on Thursday.

Investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing, as officials work to piece together the moments leading up to the fatal collision.
