Houston Fatal Shooting: Police Investigate Death at Abandoned Site

HOUSTON – Authorities in Houston are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday morning near the 12300 North Freeway service road.

The victim, a male, was discovered in a parking lot that once served an abandoned business.

As of now, police have not identified a suspect or established a clear motive for the crime.

Officers from the Houston Police Department (HPD) responded to the scene around 10:40 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim unresponsive.

Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department attempted to provide aid, but the man had already succumbed to his gunshot wounds.

Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective W. Elliot from the HPD Homicide Division stated, “HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a deceased male in the parking lot of an abandoned business at the above address.”

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working on confirming the victim’s identity, but officials have not yet released his name.

Police are asking the public for any information related to the shooting. Witnesses or individuals with knowledge of the incident can contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or submit anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
