FAISALABAD: Commissioner Faisalabad Division, Maryam Khan, has set the bar high by aiming for Faisalabad Division to break into the top three at the provincial level in “Key Performance Indicators” (KPIs).
She emphasized that achieving this goal will require everyone to pull their weight and work tirelessly to raise the game across all sectors. She asked the deputy commissioners of all four districts to ensure visible progress in this regard.
Daily Reviews and District Visits
Presiding over the first review meeting on the implementation of KPIs, the commissioner decided to hold daily meetings on the subject and announced plans to visit the districts soon to review their performance. She also received briefings from the deputy commissioners and praised the initiative of making the eight bazaars around Faisalabad’s iconic Clock Tower vehicle-free while introducing electric carts for pick-and-drop services for shoppers and shopkeepers.
Focus on Encroachment Removal and Price Control
She said that removing encroachments is a top priority and that there would be zero tolerance on this issue. The commissioner directed effective implementation of the price control mechanism and instructed that price control magistrates should be more active in markets and bazaars to stabilize the prices of essential commodities ahead of Ramadan.
Improving Healthcare and Education
Focusing on the inspection of health centers and schools, she stressed the importance of monitoring outsourced schools. She assigned the task of monitoring ongoing development projects and ensuring their timely completion, instructing that any obstacles in achieving the KPIs should be removed.
Cleanliness and Public Service
The commissioner also emphasized implementing the Clean Punjab Program according to the government’s vision, aiming to make Faisalabad Division a model for public service. She stressed the need to further activate assistant commissioners and directed the deputy commissioners to focus on revenue-related matters.
Social Welfare Initiatives
She instructed speeding up the registration process for the Socio-Economic Registry and emphasized that there should be no laxity in anti-dengue measures, including the elimination of larva-breeding sites.
The commissioner was briefed by the district administration and social welfare officers regarding the upcoming collective wedding ceremonies scheduled for next week in Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh under the “Dhee Rani Program,” . She directed them to ensure timely arrangements for these events.
