Faisalabad police have launched a massive crackdown on criminals, dismantling 316 gangs and succeeded in arresting over 800 suspects.
During the operation, police recovered cash and stolen property worth millions of rupees in 2025.
The Regional Police Officer (RPO) spokesperson, Dr. Muhammad Rizwan, said that a large-scale crackdown is being conducted under the leadership of RPO Zeeshan Asghar, as per the instructions of Inspector General Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar.
He said that police successfully broke up 316 dangerous criminal gangs and arrested 819 suspects in 2025, clearing nearly 2,914 cases.
From these groups, he said that police recovered:
- 73 vehicles
- 1,310 motorcycles
- 96 tolas of gold jewelry
- 289 mobile phones
- 373 cattle
- Over PKR 2.1 billion in cash
War on Drugs
Police also went after drug dealers aggressively. A total of 5,194 cases were registered, leading to 5,206 arrests. Major seizures included:
- 2,419 kg of hashish
- 81 kg of crystal meth (ice)
- 71,278 liters of liquor
- 282 kg of opium
- 423 kg of heroin
Illegal Weapons Seized
Operations against illegal arms resulted in the recovery of:
- 3,726 pistols
- 27 revolvers
- 281 shotguns
- 107 Kalashnikov rifles
- 281 standard rifles
- 15,473 rounds of ammunition
Action Against Kite Flying
Even kite flying was not ignored. Police registered 290 cases, arrested 308 people, and confiscated 34,129 kites along with 1,430 spools of string.
Proclaimed Offenders and Absconders Arrested
Law enforcement also captured:
- 2,714 Category A and 6,257 Category B proclaimed offenders
- 445 Category A and 5,083 Category B court absconders
Crime Rates Down in 2025
According to police, crime across Faisalabad dropped significantly compared to 2024:
- Robbery with murder: down 37%
- Dacoity: down 67%
- Robbery: down 35%
- Motorcycle theft: down 24%
- Motorcycle snatching: down 35%
- Overall serious crimes: down 29%
RPO Zeeshan Asghar said that these results were possible due to timely police action, effective strategies, and public cooperation.
What’s Next?
He said that the RPO has directed all district police officers to accelerate their efforts against street crimes, robberies, and burglaries. The RPO also stressed the need for strong patrolling, swift arrests of proclaimed offenders, and targeting repeat criminals.
Besides, the RPO emphasized identifying crime hotspots, dismantling criminal networks, and taking strict action against drug dealers, gambling dens, and brothels.
