Two men were arrested after Harris County Constable’s deputies swiftly responded to an attempted vehicle theft.

The incident took place at Old Navy on Northwest Freeway, where Adan Ruiz and Juan Serna allegedly tried to steal a GMC Yukon.

Their escape attempt was thwarted by officers on patrol.

Deputies arrived after the vehicle owner reported the crime. The suspects were soon located in a gold Chevrolet Tahoe nearby.

A patrolling lieutenant intercepted the vehicle near Northwest Freeway and FM 1960 Road.

Ruiz and Serna, both identified as Hispanic males, were taken into custody. Witnesses confirmed their involvement, according to the Constable’s Office.

Serna faces an additional charge of Tampering with a Government Record.

Details on their bond and court dates are yet to be disclosed.

Constable Mark Herman’s office urges residents to stay informed through the “C4 NOW” app, which provides live updates on crime, arrests, and safety alerts.

Citizens can also follow the precinct’s Facebook page for real-time information.
