HOUSTON — New court documents have revealed disturbing details about a woman accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend at a Montrose-area home.
The incident took place on West Alabama Street near Mandell Street.
Sandra Rios, 53, has been charged with murder for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, 71-year-old Sammy Marks, at his residence. Marks was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
Rios was arrested shortly after the attack, found walking down the street near the scene.
“They were together, hanging out, and got into an argument because the woman was being too loud while cooking,” said Lt. Willkens of the Houston Police Department.
Marks, a psychic, used his home as both his residence and business. Police confirmed they had responded to several domestic disturbance calls at the property in the past.
Court records show Rios was already under a court order to stay away from Marks. She had violated her bond conditions prior to the stabbing.
“They were in a dating relationship. She didn’t live there full-time but would come and go,” Lt. Willkens added.
This wasn’t the first violent incident between the two. In January, Rios was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of a family member after threatening to kill Marks with a pair of scissors, according to court filings.
Rios had also failed to appear for mandatory drug and alcohol testing last month, a condition of her bond.
She is now being held at the Harris County jail and is set to appear in court on Monday morning.
