San Antonio Motorcycle Crash: Rider Killed in Collision with Car

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist lost his life late Sunday night after crashing into a car while attempting to pass an 18-wheeler on the south side, according to police.

The accident occurred around 9:12 p.m. in the 2700 block of South Loop 1604 near Oak Island Drive in southern Bexar County.

Witnesses reported seeing the motorcyclist speeding in the westbound lanes as he tried to overtake the 18-wheeler before colliding with a car.

Deputies confirmed that the 34-year-old man died at the scene. The car’s driver and passenger sustained injuries, including head cuts and shoulder bruises, and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office stated that both directions of Loop 1604 were closed for about two hours while authorities investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
