SAN ANTONIO – A multi-vehicle crash on the east side disrupted traffic Monday morning, causing significant delays for commuters.

San Antonio police responded to a major accident on I-10 East at Loop 1604 around 6 a.m. The crash involved five to six vehicles.

According to authorities, the driver of an 18-wheeler was traveling eastbound when another vehicle abruptly cut in front of him.

This caused the truck driver to lose control, crash into a concrete barrier, and collide with several other vehicles. A utility truck overturned and landed on its side due to the impact.

Fortunately, no life-threatening injuries were reported.

Officials urged drivers to avoid the area as crews worked to clear the scene.

Police stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
