FAISALABAD (GL News) —The Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad, Zeeshan Asghar, has directed all senior officers to ensure their presence at crime scenes in cases of heinous offense.
Chairing a crime review meeting with police officials from Madina Division and Tandlianwala Circle, the RPO evaluated progress on serious cases and reviewed the overall performance of both divisions.
City Police Officer Bilal Umer, SP Madina Division Saad Arshad, SP Tandlianwala Muhammad Tahir, circle officers, SHOs, investigation in-charges, and clerical staff from both divisions were also present at the occasion.
Focus on Swift Resolution of Major Criminal Cases
Zeeshan Asghar emphasized the need to curb the crime rate and instructed officers to swiftly resolve pending investigations. He urged them to play a pivotal role in wrapping up major cases like murder, robbery-cum-murder, blind murders, rape, kidnapping, and armed robbery.
Clear Backlogs and Coordinate with Prosecution Branch
He further directed officials to ensure the timely arrest of suspects and resolve cases strictly on merit.
The RPO also highlighted the importance of clearing backlogs and pending cases in coordination with the prosecution branch.
To apprehend absconders and proclaimed offenders, he ordered the formation of special teams.
Enhance Patrolling in Urban and Rural Areas
The RPO called for a more efficient patrolling system to combat crimes such as robbery, vehicle theft, and cattle theft in both urban and rural areas. He also instructed officers to personally address marked complaints to ensure timely relief for the public.
Prompt Response to Public Helplines
He stressed the need for prompt responses to calls made to the 1787 helpline and emergency 15 line.
Supervisory officers were asked to review incomplete challans, untraced cases, and dismissed FIRs.
Strict Action Against Drug Peddlers and Illegal Activities
The RPO ordered strict action against drug peddlers—especially repeat offenders involved in selling meth ice (commonly known as “ice”)—as well as illegal gambling operators, and those possessing illegal weapons.
He also called for intensified crackdowns on longstanding feuds and group rivalries to maintain peace and public safety.
