Here, you will find the Arabic version of the Qurbani dua with its Urdu translation.
Qurbani Ka Janwar
Discussion about sacrificial animals, also known as qurbani ke janwar, starts roughly one month before the advent of Eid al-Adha or Eid-ul-Azha. A significant three-day long Islamic event, is known for the sacrifice of animals like cows, goats, camels and buffalos.
As the Eid al-Adha is coming up and people particularly the children have started to search for their best Qurbani ka janwar (animal for sacrifice).
Everyone tries to choose the perfect qurbani ka janwar. Unfortunately, sometimes people have to face issues as the government lacks a mechanism to keep an eye on the health of animals and their sellers. On the spot, people can not ensure that they are getting healthy animals.
The government setup different makeshift markets for the public to purchase sacrificial animals.
Hassan Ali, who goes with his father and brothers every year to select the animals, said selection of qurbani ka janwar (sacrificial animal) is a crucial part of this religious event.
“Every year, we have to visit different markets to get healthy, beautiful and affordable animals. It’s a very tough task. But after visiting the markets, one can easily come to know about the prices and status of animals.”
Sharing his selection factors, Hassan said he checked the eyes, behavior of the animals and their clean coat. We also prefer to purchase young animals of one or two years of age. One year is good for goats and two years for cows, he mentioned.
We try to purchase from those vendors who take good care of their animals during transportation and handling.
He said by selecting a good “Qurbani ke janwar”, we fulfill our religious duties and ensure good food for the family, friends and the destitutes.
Camel Qurbani
A very few people like camel qurbani or you can say purchase camels as sacrificial animals during the Islamic festival.
Eid-ul-Adha is an Islamic festival when Muslims across the world sacrifice animals as a tradition and religious obligation. Prices of camels for qurbani remain high and Muslims, who can afford it, sacrifice camels as an act of devotion and obedience to Allah.
During this revered event, the Muslims commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah. However, the almighty God had provided a ram to the Prophet as a substitute sacrifice.
Like other animals, camel qurbani is also carried out and most of the people make arrangements for its slaughtering in open areas.
After sacrificing their animals, Muslims divide meat into three parts: one for the family, another for relatives and friends, and the remaining to be doled out to the destitutes.
The denizens of Lahore and Karachi prefer camel qurbani.
Takbeer For Qurbani
Eid-ul-Azha is associated with a special recitation or saying, called Takbir, the words to be uttered when animals are sacrificed. This traditional ceremony greatly contributes to this holiday celebration.
Takbeer for Qurbani is “Bismillah Allah-o-Akbar.” People will recite it loudly while having the Qurbani niyat before slaughtering the animals.
Cow Qurbani: Celebrating Eid al-Adha in a Big Way
Eid al-Adha is a time for sharing blessings, and what better way to do that than with a cow Qurbani?
In urban areas, the majority of the people choose to go for cow qurbani during Eid al-Adha. This is owing to a few good reasons: cows are liked because of their gentle nature, their meat is tender and tasty. Cow qurbani is also a popular choice as a single cow provides enough quantity of meat which is sufficient to cater to the needs of destitutes.
When choosing a cow for qurbani, people focus on the health of the animal. They look for a gentle cow with a shiny coat as it indicates that the animal’s health is good. Besides, two years old is considered the perfect age for a cow qurbani.
