SAN ANTONIO — The body of a woman found on the far northwest side on Wednesday has been identified as 28-year-old Mariadelis Labrador Siles.

She went missing in the same area on Monday morning.

Labrador was last seen around 9 a.m. on Monday.

According to her boyfriend, she may have walked to Wildhorse Sports Park.

On Wednesday, authorities discovered a body in northwest Bexar County, close to where Labrador lived with her boyfriend.

Officials said a private search-and-rescue group with trained dogs helped guide Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) to a wooded area near the Wildhorse subdivision on Tuesday, but the dogs eventually lost the scent.

The next day, a missing persons investigator resumed the search and found a woman’s body in the woods near the Wildhorse subdivision.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar confirmed the body showed signs of trauma. While the woman matched Labrador’s description, officials initially held off on confirming her identity.

On Thursday, detectives found a machete, a shovel, and three wooden stakes leaning against a tree in a wooded area off Mustang Ranch, near where the body was discovered.

By Friday morning, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified the body as Mariadelis Labrador Siles. The cause of death was determined to be a stab wound to the chest.

Labrador had moved to Texas from Cuba last year with her boyfriend, according to her close friend, Dalay Caridad.

At the time of her disappearance, Labrador was wearing a light blue jacket and black Puma shoes with pink soles.
