AUSTIN, Texas – Authorities have arrested two men suspected of carrying out a jugging-style robbery in Cedar Park last month.

The Cedar Park Police Department reported that officers responded to a robbery call at a residence on February 14.

The victim stated that after withdrawing cash from a local bank and driving home, an armed suspect approached him, brandished a firearm, and demanded money.

Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over his cash, after which the suspect fled in a vehicle.

Law enforcement launched an investigation and identified the perpetrators as 27-year-old Kemond Taylor and 27-year-old Brandon Montgomery, both from Houston.

With assistance from the Houston Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety, Cedar Park detectives continued their investigation in Houston.

Taylor was arrested on March 24, while Montgomery was taken into custody on March 26. Both suspects now face first-degree felony charges for aggravated robbery.

Authorities determined that the crime was a case of “jugging,” a tactic where criminals stake out banks or financial institutions, follow individuals who withdraw large sums of money, and then rob them—either by breaking into their vehicles or using force to steal cash.

Cedar Park Police urge residents to remain vigilant when making financial transactions and to report any suspicious activity near banks or ATMs.
