A 65-year-old woman in Houston was fatally attacked by her neighbor’s three dogs after they broke through a shared fence, according to authorities.

The Houston Police Department (HPD) is investigating the deadly incident, which occurred around 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, in northeast Houston.

Officers responded to a home on Wayside Village Way near Wayside Drive, where they found the victim deceased in her backyard.

According to HPD homicide detectives, the neighbor’s dogs managed to break through a shared fence before mauling the elderly woman.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity as the investigation continues.

This tragic event highlights the dangers of aggressive pets and the responsibility of pet owners to ensure their animals are properly secured.

While many dog owners take safety precautions, cases like this raise concerns about dangerous breeds, inadequate fencing, and the need for stricter pet regulations.

Houston police have not confirmed whether the dog owner will face legal consequences, but the case underscores the importance of responsible pet ownership to prevent similar tragedies.
