Houston Bar Shooting Leaves Doorman Dead, Bystander Injured

A tragic shooting outside Latina’s Bar in southeast Houston claimed the life of a doorman early this morning following a dispute with a patron.

According to KHOU, the fatal incident took place around 1:40 a.m. near Telephone Road and Fairway Drive.

Authorities report that an argument erupted between the doorman and a patron, who briefly left the scene before returning armed and firing multiple shots.

The doorman suffered critical injuries, while a bystander was also struck in the leg.

Houston Fire Department personnel pronounced the doorman dead at the scene.

The injured bystander was rushed to the hospital, where they are expected to recover fully.

Law enforcement is actively searching for the suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his early twenties with a short buzz cut.

Witnesses last saw him fleeing north on Telephone Road.

FOX26 provides additional details, noting that Houston police officers responded to the shooting just after 1:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Telephone Road.

Upon arrival, they learned that the doorman had engaged in a physical altercation with the suspect inside the bar before being shot.

“The suspect stepped back, pulled out a firearm, and shot the doorman,” FOX26 reports. The second victim, an unintended target, was hit in the leg during the chaos.

Authorities are urging community members to assist in identifying the suspect to bring justice to the victim.
