The future is hydrogen and this is confirmed by one of the most legendary brands on the market, such as Toyota. The Japanese giant, always at the forefront of the latest trends and technologies in the world of motors, has announced an extremely ambitious roadmap in which the new protagonist will be nothing more and nothing less than fuel cells. The place where this great revolution is going to be put into practice? In Europe, we will have the honor of being one of the first markets to observe the growth and application of this more environmentally friendly technology.
Toyota’s commitment
In this sense, there has been much talk in recent months about the commitment of this brand to the development and application of this type of technology, which, without a doubt, will be one of the predominant technologies in the future. And this is due, among other things, to large companies like Toyota that are committed to its development based on the new requirements of a market that changes at dizzying rates .
This revelation has occurred within the framework of the Kenshiki Forum 2023 , which was held in Brussels, Belgium and featured some of the most powerful representatives in the sector. In this case, it is great news that one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, such as Toyota, is betting on this type of technology.
To ratify this commitment, Toyota made several announcements, among which the development of the new generation of hydrogen fuel cells stood out , as well as the development of FCEV vehicles for the year 2026 and to meet these objectives, Europe will be decisive, since the local operation that will be called Hydrogen Factory Europe will be established, as its name indicates, in the old continent.
Implementation in Europe
The Japanese giant wants, among other things, to develop a strategy that facilitates the entire process for the successful implementation of this technology , that is, it is a strategy that ranges from development and production to sales and after-sales service.
Regarding production, this will be carried out by Hydrogen Factory, through which it is expected to generate much broader, stronger and more diverse alliances that will allow this type of product to be successfully promoted.
Why Europe? Because it is one of the markets that shows the most attention and concern for the environment . In addition, governments are promoting specific policies to achieve sustainability objectives in the short, medium and long term. In this sense, the Japanese company expects that, by 2030, Europe will become one of the largest markets for hydrogen fuel cells and these will be applicable to improve mobility options, as well as to boost energy generation. .
It should be remembered that Toyota has always been at the forefront and has opted for this type of technology, although now the execution forecasts are much clearer depending on the evolution of the market. And, more than five years ago, specifically in 2015, the first sedan that ran on fuel cells was presented , the Toyota Mirai , so it is a company that is a true benchmark in this area.
The implementation of this new technology can translate into multiple benefits, from much more powerful performance to contributing to a much kinder and more sustainable world for us and future generations. The market is changing and the Japanese giant is always at the forefront to promote new technologies
