FDA Warns Private Developers of Strict Action

FAISALABAD (GL News)– The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has warned private developers that strict action will be taken against them if they fail to comply with the laws, rules and regulations and departmental conditions.

Chairing a meeting of the developers, FDA Director General Muhammad Asif said that the authority is providing developers with speedy services for establishing new housing schemes, expanding existing ones, and handling other related matters.

He emphasized that lawbreaking  must be avoided to ensure smooth implementation of regulations and organised town planning.

He clarified that public utility sites are government property, and do not illegally attempt to occupy, encroach or use these plots of public interest for any other purpose. He added that strict action will be taken, and offenders will be held responsible for any construction or damage.

Illegal Housing Expansion Will Be Demolished

He warned that legal and departmental procedures must be adopted for the expansion of existing housing schemes. Any violation of the law will not be tolerated, and structures built as part of illegal expansion will be demolished immediately.

He said that a monitoring/ inspection process is underway and FDA enforcement teams are actively working against illegal housing schemes.

Developers Urged to Clear Dues Immediately

DG FDA stressed that defaulters should immediately deposit their dues, a vigorous recovery campaign is underway. Challans are also being sent to the court of the Special Judicial Magistrate. 

He said that any issue or complaints regarding FDA services should be reported directly, as the authority is committed to resolving them swiftly. He said that FDA is providing all possible facilities to the developers in accordance with rules and regulations.

One-Window Operations to Facilitate Developers

He informed that, under the Punjab government policy of ‘Ease to Doing Business’, institutional services are being provided under one roof for business convenience, so applicants do not have to visit different departments.

During the meeting, the developers assured their compliance with the legal procedures and departmental requirements. They thanked the DG FDA for taking a special interest in resolving their issues.

Additional Director General Kaiser Abbas Rind, Chief Engineer Mehar Ayub, Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin, Director IT Yasir Ijaz Chatha and other officers were also present on the occasion.
