FAISALABAD: In a shocking incident that has left the local community disturbed, three robbers barged into a house in Mohalla Sharif Pura, Dijkot, and one of them allegedly raped a housewife.
The Horrific Incident
Submitting an application to the police, the victim lady said that her husband is a truck driver, and she was at home with her children. She claimed that three armed men broke into her home around the time of the Fajr prayer.
She said her 13-year-old son, Owais, stepped out of the room to use the bathroom when he spotted the robbers in the courtyard. Terrified, Owais immediately rushed back and informed her about them. She said the robbers also followed Owais and forcibly entered the room.
She said the armed to the teeth robbers held the entire family hostage at gunpoint and demanded money. In a state of fear for her children’s lives, she handed over her purse containing around Rs 400-500.
One of the robbers threatened to kill her children if she did not comply with their demands, leaving her feeling like she was between a rock and a hard place.
To avoid their wrath, she informed the robbers that some money had been stored in a trunk. Following this information, she said the robbers ransacked the trunk and stole Rs 5,000 and a mobile phone from her home.
Instead of leaving the house with their booty, one of the robbers subjected the lady to rape at gunpoint, as she claimed in her application.
Rampant Crime in Faisalabad
Street crimes are rampant in Faisalabad, as just a couple of days ago, robbers gunned down two people in two separate incidents.
Sources said the accused of a food outlet robbery case have been arrested by the police as their video was recorded on CCTV cameras while committing the crime.
The Dijkot police registered a case under section 376 and 392 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) with no arrest so far.
A police officer said that an investigation into the case has been launched and soon the culprits would be behind bars.
