FAISALABAD: Residents of different areas faced sanitation issues as Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) employees were unable to perform their duties after a robbery at the disposal center.
The report said that four armed robbers barged into the Wasa disposal center on Daewoo Road, overpowered the security guards, disconnected the cables, and escaped with cables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
The disconnection of the cables led to the disruption of sewage disposal in different areas including Chibban, Lorry Adda, Shadman, Akbarabad, Gulistan Colony, GOR-2, and other areas.
Wasa disposal center operator Sheikh Ghazanfar filed a police report at the Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station.
The applicant claimed that security guards Saqib and Ali Raza were on duty when four armed men forcibly entered the disposal station on Daewoo Road, tied them up, and then locked them in a room.
He said the robbers disconnected valuable wires from transformers, pumps, and generators.
He said the robbers fled with costly cables, a laptop, a pump controller, and other valuables.
